| Hypercars, Track-only|
The Pagani Huayra R debuts as the most extreme Pagani hypercar made exclusively for the track with a naturally aspirated V12 producing 850 horsepower. Only 30 examples will go into production with a base price of $3.1 million. Let’s go over its price, specs, release date, and everything you need to know.
Performance Specs
The Pagani Huayra R is powered by the new Pagani V12-R engine which is the most powerful naturally aspirated internal combustion engine in the history of the brand. In addition, it is designed from the ground up in partnership with HWA AG specifically to meet Pagani’s needs to have the lightest, most powerful and efficient track-ready 6.0-liter V12 ever created. As a result, it produces specs of 850 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, it revs all the way up to 9,000 rpm. It also tips the scales at just 436 lbs which places it at the top of its category. It is an exceptionally efficient engine that only needs a service every 6,200 miles. Lastly, not only does the Pagani Huayra R feature a new engine, it also has a brand new six-speed sequential gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels. It is designed along with the V12-R engine and in collaboration offers a completely tailor-made powertrain.
Exhaust System
A new exhaust system developed specifically for the Pagani Huayra R guarantees rapid and effective evacuation of exhaust gasses. As result, it allows the hypercar to deliver all of its incredible power, while ensuring minimum back pressure. In addition, it is made from Inconel which gives it a lightweight construction. Not only does it guarantee maximam aerodynamic performance, but it also gives the occupants a thriling acoustic experience. The sound of the V12 roars similar to F1 cars of the past.
Aerodynamics
Every line and surface of the Pagani Huayra R design focuses on generating maximum aerodynamics and downforce. In addition, the development target goal was 2,200 lbs of downforce at 198 mph. The team was able to achieve this goal by making design changes to the car. For instance, there are two new side air intakes at the front, new wing profiles on the front hood, new air vents above the wheel arch, and a large side outlet that channels airflow. There is also a new roof scoop with an integrated fin, flat bottom, rear diffuser, and large rear wing.
Chassis and Materials
The Pagani Huayra R monocoque uses the latest composite technologies comprising of Carbo-Titanium HP62-G2 and Carbo-Triax HP62. In addition, the new monocoque incorporates the seats fully. This guarantees maximam protection with specific shock-absorption side structure as well as allowing for easy access to the co*ckpit. Furthermore, the rear frame in conjunction with the powertrain form an integrated structure in the monocoque. As a result, there is a 51% increase in flexible rigidity and 16% increase in torsional rigidity in comparison to the standard Huayra. Lastly, the use of lightweight materials and structural principles allows the hypercar to have a dry weight of just 2,314 lbs.
Suspension
The Pagani Huayra R features a suspension unit developed specifically for the track-only hypercar. For instance, it is made from forged aluminum alloy. It is an independent double wishbone suspension with helical springs and electronically controlled active shock absorbers. Furthermore, the new suspension helps deliver power to ground and also offers unprecedented driving precision.
Brakes/ Wheels
Pagani has a long standing relationship with Brembo supplying them with state-of-the-art braking systems. For instance, the Pagani Huayra R has brand-new CCM-R self-ventilated carbon-ceramic discs with racing pads. They are also specifically developed for the hypercar. They ensure maximum braking power, greater rigidity, and lower operating temperatures for track use. Lastly, it rides on 19-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero slicks.
Arte in Pista
An essential part of the Pagani experience are meet-ups for members of the exclusive family of customers. With Arte in Pista (“art on the track”), Pagani seeks to take this experience to the next level. For example, they are offering a calendar packed with personalized events that allow Huayra R owners to enjoy the full excitement of driving. These events will include individual track days at international renowned circuits, to group events and more.
Interior
The interior of the Pagani Huayra R helps deliver a thrilling driving experience. For example, all essential controls, such as traction control, ABS map selection, radio communication, and more are immediately available on the steering wheel. In addition, the steering wheel is removable for easy access to the co*ckpit. Furthermore, secondary controls such as lights, engine maps, suspension maps, and more are on the center console. There is also a high resolution display that feeds the driver with necessary information.
